Detailed Description

Advantages

Disadvantages

  • Enables active utilization of 'B' or 'G'

       infrastructure and customer base

  • Objective: Expand initial market reach

  • Used during early-stage market

growth or when product awareness is low

  • Allows market entry even with limited owned infrastructure

  • B2B(G) serves as a testbed for performance/utility → Enables

       product refinement and enhancement

       prior to B2C entry

  • Time-consuming to enter the B2C market

  • For a successful soft-landing in B2C    Requires B2B market entry with                    a predefined B2C strategy

  • Direct B2C market entry based on proven

       utility and product awareness

  • Direct execution of marketing, PR, and     sales using internal infrastructure

  • Secures controllability over distribution

       and sales → Enhances market

       responsiveness

  • Requires prior acquisition of internal  infrastructure for direct sales

  • Incurs significant costs to secure        personnel, channels, etc.

02 Market Entry Strategy

Mitigating B2C Hurdles Through
B2B2C Partner Infrastructure

The wearable robot market faces high cost and time barriers for Direct B2C entry due to low consumer awareness and the need for ongoing utility validation. To overcome this, a B2B2C entry strategy was devised using partner infrastructure as a testbed. This created a flexible business framework to stably expand early market reach and achieve a soft landing into the B2C market.

Large Fitness Chains

Frame 103.png

Independent Large Fitness Centers

Frame 103.png

Boutique Fitness Centers

To enter the growing fitness market, major franchise chains with strong brand recognition were identified as initial target partners. Leveraging their nationwide infrastructure would rapidly expand the wearable robot footprint, followed by B2C expansion into home fitness via telecom media platforms. Furthermore, a roadmap was proposed to evolve into a sustainable data service model by analyzing user posture, body type, and behavioral data collected during wear.

  • High track record & multi-location coverage establish strong B2C brand

  • awareness (e.g., SpoAny: ~100 nationwide locations, 20+ years of operation)

  • Cross-location membership access typically allowed

  • (Aims to prevent customer churn to competitors in other regions)

  • Unbranded/Independent large fitness centers

  • Minor differences among operators

  • Small fitness centers (~66–100 m² / 20–30 pyung)

  • Leverage partner's Brand Power

  • Secure a stable W·R user base

As these consist mostly of individual
sole proprietors, even if partnerships
are established, practical marketing
impacts are expected to be extremely
limited.

04 Fitness Market Trends

Resolving
Fitness Bottlenecks
via Micro Studios

Large commercial fitness centers face clear limitations, such as peak-hour equipment wait times, limited 1:1 PT availability, and travel distance from residential areas. To address these pain points, the market is rapidly shifting toward 'Micro-Studios' that combine compact scale, personalized training, and high accessibility (residential locations with 24/7 unstaffed operation). Major franchises are consequently adopting micro-studio and franchising strategies to expand market share in residential zones.

Features & Limitations

Facility Size

  • Equipment Bottlenecks

  • Limited popular machines due to varied layout

  • Long wait times during peak hours

Training & Classes

  • Limited Personalization

  • Trainer shortages per location

  • Forced into Group PT due to full schedules

Location & Accessibility

  • Sub-optimal Location

  • Distant for casual/light users

  • Travel friction drives users to home workouts

05 Synergy & Value Proposition

Maximizing Business
Synergy via
W·R Integration

Integrating wearable robotics addresses key Micro-Studio constraints: limited equipment choices and reduced service quality during unstaffed hours. Wearable robots offer diverse workout modes and real-time motion coaching around the clock, supporting a premium training experience even late at night.

For operators, this reduces capital expenditure (CapEx) on heavy machinery, real estate, and interior

fit-outs by requiring only a minimal operational footprint.

06 Design Architecture

Bridging
Physical Flexibility
& Digital Engagement

To address existing fitness center constraints, the product architecture is divided into two core pillars: Hardware and Content. The hardware foundation focuses on a compact, multi-purpose design that allows complete routines in constrained spaces. Meanwhile, the content layer combines wearable technology and metaverse integration, turning solo workouts into interactive, motivating social sports.

Translating Strategic
Concepts into Concrete
Functional Solutions

To operationalize the core design stances, the system integrates physical adaptability with digital connectivity. The Wearable GYM framework addresses spatial constraints by enabling space-efficient, full-body routines with adaptive strength support in a single spot. Concurrently, the Partner GYM framework leverages digital connectivity to transform individual exercises into interactive, gamified social experiences delivering the comprehensive value of a personal workout partner anytime, anywhere.

Integrated Solution Concept
& 3 Tier Modular System Proposal

Based on research insights, an integrated design solution was defined: 'Wearable GYM' (combining spatial efficiency with strength assistance) and 'Partner GYM' (delivering mutual motivation and partner experiences). To maximize hardware scalability and daily wearability, a 3-tier modular system architecture was proposed.

08 Sensing & Data Layer

Dynamic Motion
Tracking via Clip-on Sensing

As the foundational unit of the Wearable GYM ecosystem, the Wearable Trainer consists of a clip-on sensor unit and a fabric harness system. The lightweight clip attaches to apparel to track workout metrics, while the soft fabric harness prevents motion interference and connects to the Wearable Machine for expanded capability.

09 Actuation & Resistance Layer

Adaptive Force Control
via Cable Pulley

The Wearable Machine utilizes an integrated cable pulley system to push, pull, assist force, or provide resistance from multiple body points. Users can freely adjust exercise intensity, resistance angles, and workout directions for maximum efficiency. Featuring a quick-release mechanism, the module docks securely via a simple twist-and-lock motion and detaches instantly with a single button press.

10 Versatile Accessory Layer

Versatile Grips
Unlocking Multi-Exercise
Capabilities

The Grip Systems extend the physical capabilities of the Wearable Machine across diverse movement patterns. Interchangeable options including Hard Handles, Soft Fabric Grips, and Foot Steps allow users to easily switch between push, pull, bodyweight assist, and lower-body resistance routines. From upper-body pressing to floor-anchored movements, these modular accessories optimize force delivery for full-body workouts.

11 Multi-Station Integration Layer

Stationary Mounting
for Targeted Isolation

The Multi Purpose Machine Rack serves as a stationary structural frame that integrates with the Wearable Machine to enable targeted isolation exercises. Designed for flexible spatial deployment within fitness facilities, the rack features multi-height twist-lock docking points. Users can quickly mount the Wearable Machine at custom elevations, expanding workout versatility beyond wearable body configurations.

12 Digital Content Layer

Gamified Social
Workout Connection

angel FIT bridges hardware metrics with digital engagement through multi-screen UI interactions. The system mirrors real-time workout postures onto 3D avatars, allowing members across different branches to perform alternating sets and send instant gesture cues. Rotating the display horizontally activates Cross-Branch mode, providing live posture monitoring and branch-wide leaderboards for friendly competition.
